SportDOG Deluxe Hunting Beeper Collar, DSL-400

I got this for $31 shipped on Amazon, when it was $79 everywhere else. I wanted an inexpensive beeper since I have never used one, I didn't know how the dog would react. This beeper has alot of features for the money, I have used it on 4 weekends hunting, and it has worked great. The dog hated it at first but got used to it. I will say it is definately worth the $31, I think for $79 I might shop a little harder and maybe upgrade for a few extra bucks.

Good product.Durable.light.Loud!use on low.on/off switch seems like it could use alittle better engineering.All in all I like it.Dog was alittle freaked out by sound at first but now knows shes goin to get birds.I also use it on fun walks just to keep track of her

Second one I bought...1st one lasted 6 years of harsh MA weather and hunting 3 days a week in mud, snow and rivers during pheasant seaaon

Easy todo use, wells made, use for search dog un training. The beeper slides to front of dog neck. (Aika in the foto)

We had to return this product twice. The first one we had worked for a couple of days and then quit. We tried different batteries, but it didn't matter. Their customer service was no help at all. The man was very hard to understand and all he kept saying was that we needed fresh batteries. This obviously was not the issue. The second collar did not work at all. The one we have now currently works, but this was a huge hastle!

I would recommend to keep shopping if you are considering buying this collar. I bought it last fall (2012) and probably used it twice. It rarely sped up beeping when my dog was on point. Sometimes it would speed up when she was in a full run. To top it off I tried it last weekend 2013 and it doesn't even work anymore. Don't fall for the relatively cheep price. This is a classic case of you get what you pay for. I should have known better

It meets all expectations wanted to keep track of your dog in the fields while hunting.

I found the standard beep easier to hear than the other three options.Also prefer the loud setting to the regular as I have some hearing impairment . It is easy to select the various option via switches as opposed to counting beeps on some of the other manufacture's models. I would like a ulta low tone option. Also had one of the end caps come off the second time I used the unit. There were a couple of other complaints about loosing these caps when I was reviewing some of the reviews on line prior to purchase.Definitly a problem. Also find it a little difficult to turn the unit off and on when it is on the dog. The manufacture is sending me a new cap ,no charge. I think most people with normal hearing would find this unit OK.

reliable so far ( 2 weeks) easy to operate.. A litle bit slow to stop beeping when the dog start to walk again. But you get use to it.
