Refined reproduction of the famous Venus of Milo, a precious piece of furniture made by hand in Italy, in poor white marble, durable and elegant material used in sculpture and decoration. The Venus of Milo is one of the most famous Greek marble sculptures, extremely recognizable and symbolic without arms. The Venus of Milo dates back to 130 B.C. about: a Hellenistic work, although it is a sculpture that blends the different styles of art of the classical period. It was found broken in two parts in 1820 on the Greek island of Milo. After some restoration work, it was placed in the Louvre museum where it is still preserved. Aphrodite stands with her naked body up to her abdomen and her legs are veiled by a thick drapery. It is not known precisely what mythological episode of the life of Venus is represented: it is believed to be a representation of the Venus Victrix which bears the golden knob in Paris. Gathered hair, broad fertile hips, affects the natural attitude of the goddess, now far from the "heroic" composure of the classic Venuses of the previous centuries. Celebrated by artists and critics, the Venus of Milo was considered by many to be one of the most significant representations of female beauty. It is a crafts article, entirely produced in Italy. Any imperfections and differences with the image are to be considered a guarantee of the uniqueness of the object and of the material.
