Color:Limited Edition IImprove your CNC cutting abilities with the Whiteside CNC Spoilboard Surfacing Router Bit. This 1/4\" shank bit clears the surface of your Spoilboard, creating a base surface that is perpendicular to the router motor. Once you add your planed project material, you are ensured an accurate cut. This CNC bit can also be used to flatten live edge boards that may be too large to go through your planer. Four wings make a fast, clean cut on your project material. This CNC bit is carbide tipped.

Great surfacing bit
I've used this to flatten the wasteboard on my Shapeoko 3 as well as surface a dozen cutting boards (maple, purpleheart, bubinga). Make sure you use dust collection because this bit surely produces plenty of dust!

Very Smooth Surface Finish, Makes A Lot Of Fine Dust
Did a great job leveling my 24" X 49" particle board vacuum chuck spoil board. I used a spindle speed of 12,000 RPM, a feed rate of 80 inches per minute, a .010" depth of cut and a .4" step over on this 1" router bit to make a smooth surface that's free of ripple that might be caused by an out-of-tram spindle. It took a little over 30 minutes to level the spoil board and it made a lot of very fine dust. The CNC router is completely enclosed so this wasn't a problem, but if you use this without a full enclosure, you'll have fine dust flying all over your shop and you don't want to breathe that fine dust.

Works great, avoid staples.
I bought this for stock and spoil board surfacing on my CNC router. This is a very well-made product, and worth the money. My only caveat is that, if you plan on using this on a large piece (my spoil board is 3' x 4'), it may be worthwhile to buy a larger bit. A 1" surfacing bit will get the job done a lot faster.Be wary of Big Box MDF when using this bit. I've twice encountered staples buried in the middle of MDF. The most recent encounter did some damage to this bit.

Nice price and cut
Used this to level a round tree slab...worked great, seemed to cut almost effortlessly. Very smooth finish. At this price, I would buy it again and recommend to friends.

Exactly as expected.
I used this to surface my spoil board. It greats dust like you can only imagine. It's great and will stay sharp for a while.

Just sand with some 220 and good to go
It works well, guess I was hoping for a smother finish, it leaves small swirl marks on the wood. Just sand with some 220 and good to go.

Stayed Sharp
I used this bit to flatten a large poplar slab and it worked beautifully. It plowed through the wood at the end of the process just as easily as it did when I began the process (in other words it retained its edge very well).

Performance outstanding & utterly amazing.
Having failed to remove or adequately countersink the screws on my workbench, prior to putting it to use, several were hit. To my amazement, it continued to produce outstanding results. Having read that other users had major issues; 1/4" shank would bend & or break, but I can only assume too much material was trying to be removed. I will reorder another & can't recommend it enough. Wish a larger size was available with the 1/4-in shank.
