simplicity, lightweight, inaccurate
as a special forces veteran, the watch's design is lacking a rotating bezel (red flag) for actual military/diving/setting time frame applications but i knew that before buying. it is naked without this key feature so i see very limited qualifications other than keeping time, as a military use watch. i would not hand these out to any military without the rotating bezel. it is very basic to have that critical feature and it wouldn't cost much more to include one. aesthetically, it is a beautiful watch as a dress watch and i trust the german quality in workmanship.after reconsidering my previous (above) review for a week's time; i was surprised to find it running a couple minutes slow as written in others previous reviews. so much for my and most others minimal necessity of it keeping accurate time. now, i question this watch as being german made as it is not the german quality of year's past that i was familiar with. for the price, it should have better time accuracy. i am now returning for a refund as i have changed my rating from 5 stars to 2 stars and that is being generous. cutting back on quality control comes into question.

Best Experience
Arrived ahead of schedule.Particularly comfortable. I've never had a band like this, that passes under the watch so that leather is always on the skin. That means none of the slipping that happens when the bracelet notches are a half notch too loose or tight.I never wound this watch. Right out of the box, I shook it for two minutes. After that, I wore it for about 12 hours daily, with moderate activity level. True, I developed the habit of wiggling my wrist occasionally. Over two weeks, measuringfrom the same atomic clock source, it gained two minutes in two weeks. Of course, everyone will be different. There was no time change during the 'down time.' No other automatic I've owned has had near the advertised 'reservecapacity.'I can't address shock or water resistance.Thoroughly happy with my purchase.

Great field watch @ great price
All titanium body/case + sapphire crystal + automatic movement + screw-in crown + hack second hand ... all under $350 -- freaking amazing! This is an amazingly priced military/field-style watch that has all quality features you want in a watch without paying 2 or 3 times more (to my mind comes Hamilton black PVD Titanium automatic that's around $650). The design itself is minimalist and pleasing. Due to its titanium case, the watch is also lighter to wear. I measured the accuracy over the last 10 hours and it's about +1 sec per 10 hours or less (actually I have a hard time saying if it gained a second or not). I'd estimate that it will gain 1-2 secs a day which is excellent. The automatic mechanism inside seems to be (Seiko) SII NH35A (according to one of the GWP/Arctos reps) which translates to approximately Seiko 4R35. I'd recommend this watch to everyone who likes minimalist design, military field watch-style, and high quality components. (Personally I like the bund strap, but there are other choices too for people who'd like or prefer a different strap).

EXCELLENT IS NOT ENOUGH !!!
This watch is more than a dream !!! If one read the description of this watch, might think that it's an exaggeration, but it's EXACTLY the description of the product. It's so precise,... TO THE TOP SECOND every morning; it's light like a dream and strong like a TANK !!! On its back says : " MILITARY TYPE " and I can over-trust a German product with full confidence. IF YOU FIND IT, BUY IT RIGHT THE WAY !!!

Best field watch!
One of the best field watches I've had! I always bought cheap $20 digital watches for bad weather or environment days. Then I decided to buy this last year for work in general. Definitely within AR 670-1 with the green NATO strap. The gunmetal matte finish on the watch is hard to spot even on sunny days so it's definitely a must for military personnel. Watch never stopped, nor did it ever break so far other than a few cosmetic scratches here and there. Accurate timepiece worth keeping!

This watch is fantastic. It is extremely light and is accurate +/- 1 or 2 min/day. Its luminescent numbers a clear to see at night. I'm very satisfied with this purchase and recommend it to anyone. I have much more expensive automatic time pieces but regularly opt for this GPW. Bang for the price, this is great value. I've had it for over 6 months and recently had an issue with the band and Arctos quickly resolved my problem. They have an excellent customer service and very quick to respond.
