Does not produce a spray mist with oil - BEWARE See last update
I have another oil sprayer for olive oil that I have had for a few years. I decided to buy another for avocado oil and bought this oil sprayer. After cleaning it, I first tried it with water. This sprayer does not spray at all. It only sputters, drips, and spits. I have decided to return it and look for one that works. since some reviewers have said they got one with a nice spray mist and other experience spitting and sputtering like I did, I guess getting one that works is just the "luck of the draw". This is not a chance I am willing to take again.I am also upset that after contacting the seller for assistance to get this mister to work, the response boiled down to "Sorry it doesn't work. Return it." This was another reason, other than the fact it didn't work, that I decided to return this oil mister. So, don't count on any help from the seller if you happen to get a defective product. One other thing that I didn't think of at the time I ordered this oil sprayer is the bottle is made of clear glass which allows light to the oil. Light will cause any oil to deteriorate and become rancid. Any container that you plan to keep cooking oil of any kind should be colored and opaque to help preserve the oil.UPDATE 11/06/19:Since most of the reviews for this mister were positive, I decided to give it another try. The second mister that I got does produce a nice oil mist, so the first one must have been defective. I have to admit that I am still a bit irked by the lack of concern for the customer expressed by the seller.UPDATE 12/16/19:This mister worked a couple of times and now it will mist for only a couple of seconds and then spits and sputters globs of oil on the food. I give up on this one and have decided to return it. Really not sure how it got so many positive reviews.UPDATE 12/17/19:I know know why this oil mister has such a high percentage of 5 star reviews. The day after I reduce the star rating from 4 stars to 1 star, I received an email from a representative for this seller. I was offered $15 to either change the review to 5 stars or to delete the review. I refused the offer, and now wonder how many of the 5 star reviews were paid for as this is definitely not a 5 star product. If we want this review system to be helpful, we must all work together to keep it that way.I hope this review was helpful for you.

Great way to avoid propellants
I purchased this manual pump oil spray bottle for use in cooking because I can taste the propellants used in canned cooking spray, especially on raw foods. This spray bottle doesn't use propellants, instead using a manual pump that's built into the cap. The white plastic portion of the cap is a plunger that pushes air into the base with every pump. After you've pumped air into it, pressing the sprayer dispenses the oil. The bottle was easy to fill with oil from a bottle because it isn't too narrow. Everything feels like thick and well-made glass.Pumping the lid 10 times takes a few seconds and allows the sprayer to spray for about 8 seconds. That seems reasonable. The only flaw that I found with the product is that 1/30 times I pump it, the plunger will stay in the bottle base and I'll have to pull it out and reattach it. It's not a big problem, but it makes me wonder why it wasn't attached better. If not glued in, at least have it screw on. Even with that, I am very satisfied with my purchase and highly recommend this product. 4/5 stars

Great Potential, missed in the important area
Overall this mister works fine, but the biggest issue is how fine the mist is. This mister is great because of the glass bottle so you know how much is left and the construction is very sturdy. The problem I have is that when you spray it, it's so fine that you lose 75% in the air. I mainly use misters to put oil on cooking pans and I've had to hold this up against to even get a decent coverage. Compared to other brands, this mister also has a small pressure hold. Other misters I've used we could pump until you cant anymore and that would last for numerous uses. On this one you pump until full pressure and it uses it all in less than 5 seconds leading to you have to pump up twice to get coverage on a pan because of small pressure and too fine of a mist. If these two things were fixed, it would be the best one on the market by far.

Air Pump With Olive Oil
When I first got it, I was put off by the fact that I had to pump it up (Top comes off and acts as the pump handle. It usually takes about 20 pumps before you get any usable amount of spray oil and my arm just gets a bit tired.)The more I used it the easier it got.I just put regular olive oil straight from the bottle into the bottom heavy glass part. While it doesn't give you as much spray as a non propellant can from the store, it's more than adequate for smaller jobs or coating a chicken breast or fries or whatever. The oil comes out as a kind of fine mist so you should be careful not to breathe any in.Good product and does what it says it does.

So far it's okay
I've only used this a handful of times so far but I've had a different mister sprayer for years. I like the glass and stainless top. It appears easy to clean and well made. Has a decent sized reservoir. My only complaint so far is that you have to pump it for awhile and it doesn't hold pressure for very long. I pump it and I can spray a few seconds and then I have to pump it again. I bought this to spray food in my air fryer and I have to pump it multiple times in order to cover everything. Kinda annoying. Don't know if it's a flaw or designed that way. So far it is working tho, so I will keep using it and see how it goes

Leaves a very light spray of oil on the food.
I purchased this product because an oil sprayer that I’ve had for a few years stopped working. This one is similar in construction and use, but I find that it sprays a much finer spray than my previous one. At first, I wasn’t even sure that it was spraying anything at all. I sprayed it on a paper towel and couldn’t see any oil spots. Then I sprayed it on a glass and could definitely see the oil mist that is on the glass. I’m used to a much stronger spray, so I need to get comfortable with using this one to give and even coating to my food. I think it will take a learning curve, but I think this product does what it supposed to.
