When I opened the box and removed the contents I became a little puzzled. There were no instructions, but there were several parts, including some very tiny screws that appeared to have no use whatsoever. I also had a difficult time trying to open the back to insert my camera. A trip to the company's website was not helpful as I could not find this product listed anywhere. My final stop was the Amazon product page. At least that helped me see that to remove the back you slide it upward instead of pulling it off. But the page was still no help in figuring out what the extra tiny screws were for which is apparently nothing since they aren't even listed as contents.Inside the box is a manual that thanked me for being a customer in several languages but contained no instructions. The cage was there, of course, and so was a mount that screws into the bottom using two larger screws and a washer. There was also an allen key and small screwdriver. Already attached to the cage was a 52mm UV lens and a lens cap.Once I got the back off, the camera slipped in easily, but fit quite snugly, which is good since the camera shouldn't move once in the cage. None of the operational buttons are blocked, though the front view screen is partially obstructed by the lens opening which is considerably larger than it needs to be and causes a loss of some functionality. Further, the camera must be removed from the cage to change the battery or access the SD card, but this is also the case with the plastic cage that comes with the Osmo Action. I purchased a set of ND filters made specifically to fit the Osmo Action and they quite difficult to change while the camera is inside this cage. I'll either have to struggle to change filters or make sure that I have the correct filter attached prior to inserting the camera in the cage. Another possibility would be to purchase another set of ND filters that fit the 52mm thread on the cage.Overall, it is what it is and while it could be better it is a quality cage at a good price. The biggest plus is also the biggest minus. The 52mm thread means that larger filters can be used with it. That's great. But the tradeoff is that it partially block one of the best features of the Osmo Action; the front screen and makes changing filters made to fit the camera difficult. Despite its drawbacks, I like it and will use it when I need protection over functionality.

This metal cage is very solid and sturdy. It's very well machined, with a smooth black finish. The Osmo Action Camera fits perfectly inside it, with no wiggle room so it doesn't rattle around. The best feature is the 52mm filter thread, which lets you attach ND filters or polarizers or whatever other filter you may have in your photo gear collection. It comes with a clear glass UV protector filter, which seems like it's good quality - I couldn't notice any difference in image quality with it, which is good.Keep in mind there are open sections of this cage where you camera still could get damaged if it takes a blow in just the right (or wrong) place, but overall it offers good protection.It comes with a GoPro mount adapter, or you can use the 1/4"-20 screw hole to mount it on a standard photo tripod. The cage has a cold shoe on top, which could be useful for adding a video light or external microphone.This is definitely a useful accessory for the Osmo Action Cam, and it is very well made, so I'd say it's a worthy investment.

This very well machined cage provides necessary protection to the Osmo Action plus a cold accessory shoe, 52mm filter mount, ¼-20 tripod screw and GoPro mount. Installation of the camera into the cage is dirt simple: raise the back panel, slip the camera in and close the back panel. The Osmo Action fits snugly and all ports and buttons are available. The 52mm filter mount partially obscures the Osmo Action front screen. The unit comes with a 52mm UV filter. There’s a cold mount accessory shoe at the top. With the addition of a Osmo microphone adapter, you’ve got all you need to use the Osmo Action as a vlogging station. A very nice piece of work, in my opinion, and I’ll be experimenting with the Osmo Action as my vlogging camera for the next several weeks.Jerry

Nice quality cage. All metal design the back piece is locked magnetically. My Osmo action fit perfectly in it nice and snug. It does only have one cold shoe slot. I tried my 52 mm nd filters and they screwed on nicely. The front display still has a good amount of visibility with this cage installed. Overall im happy with the quality of this cage as it fits my needs.

this is a great cage for the osmo action. fits like a glove, easy to open and close, and love the lens protector which allows me to screw on filters! this is light weight and gives me peace of mind that it will be protected in any number of situations.
