Dangerous

This is a classic album from The Bar-Kays. It's funky and has 2 beautiful ballads. But the song that we really loved back in the day was Sexomatic. We even tried to blonde our hair on the ends like they did. These are my homeboys from Memphis, TN and I guarantee listening to this cd, you'll hear influences of Prince, Michael Jackson too. They established themselves playing at Stax, but the music they made for themselves is worthy of reissue. Looking forward to a reissue of Banging The Walls. Get this cd, it is awesome!!!

I am a big fan of The Bar-Kays and I love their music. The Bar-Kay always had a solid album but the radio only play a few songs. I grew up listening to The Bar-Kays in the the 70's and I stay loyal to them cause of their music arrangement. I am looking for the rest of their albums

For a long time i have been searching for this album. I love the Bar-Kays. It sounds as great today as it did back in the day. The album cover is worth the purchase alone. I wish that it was available as a poster i would surely put it on my refrigerator.

前作"Propositions"からSound Productionが生音から打ち込み音中心へと変わりつつあったThe Bar-Kays。今作も前作同様SexyなFemale（フィーメールと言う言葉がピッタリの女性）によるエロジャケで勝負してきたThe Bar-Kays。そして物まね屋の本領を発揮し、Midnight StarのElectric Funk Number"No Parking On The Dance Floor"を模倣して"Freakshow On The Dance Floor"を1st Singleに持ってきたThe Bar-Kays（Titleまでクリソツ）。このSingleがバカ当たりしてPlutinum Recordを獲得し、正に絶頂期を迎えたThe Bar-Kays。しかも全8曲中6曲がFunk NumberというAlbum構成でFunk好きの琴線にビンビン触れてきたThe Bar-Kays。しかし私がこのAlbumのCD化を切に願っていたのは、それらの理由からではなくThe Bar-Kaysの楽曲史上最高の、と言うよりも80年代を代表する素晴らしいブラコン・バラッド"Lovers Should Never Fall In Love"が収録されているからである。いやぁー、本当にこの曲は素晴らしい。ブラコン好きには涙チョチョ切れる事請け合いの美しくてSimpleなMelodyに、Larry Dodsonの何時も以上にSexyで情感溢れる歌いっぷりが痺れます。イケイケFunk GroupのThe Bar-Kaysにしては余りにもブラコンしていて、不満に思われるFanの方もおられましょうが、80年代と言う時代の潮流に見事に乗り切った彼らの屈指の名曲であると言っても過言ではないでしょう。もう1曲のMedium Number"Make Believe Lover"はGorgeousな音と、途中で挟まれるGuitar Soloがロッカ・バラッドを思わせてイマイチ。Funk NumberではAlbum Lastを飾る"Sexomatic"が往年の彼ららしさとは対極を為したどこかCoolな雰囲気を感じさせており、余りThe Bar-Kaysらしくはないが、私は一番気に入りました。前々作の"Nightcruising"や"前作の方がTotal的なカッコ良さは上だと思いますが、"Lovers Should Never Fall In Love"1曲で★4個とします。
