Only one quarter of it lit up.
Tested it before install. Worked perfect. Installed it carefully and nicely around engine bay edge. No kinks or cuts. Plugged it in and only a quarter of it lit up. Backing glue on strip could be moresticky. I alcoholed everywhere it should stick. Stayed in most spots. Will purchase another brand and try again.***UPDATE*** After my one star review on the LED light strip, I am re-evaluating my review to five stars due to the superior customer service from the seller. They immediately contacted me and were very sincere and swift in sending me a quick replacement. Constant communication was optimal. Sometimes a product may be damaged in shipment or misfire. I encourage everyone to purchase from this seller as you will be satisfied either way as they will correct any problem you may have if it arises. I will buy again if need be. I thank you very much for handling my purchase in the most satisfying way it can.

Great LED Strip, Just finicky when soldering and adhesive is weak.
Value: ★★★★☆These arent the cheapest SMD led strips, but they work rather well and after nearly a year of using them, they have yet to disappoint.Quality: ★★★☆☆As mentioned I've used them nearly a year inside a cabinet under an aquarium. It's fairly humid from the saltwater and some other metal items have a little rust on them. Currently, the lights are doing great! They are surprisingly bright for a 3528 LED strip. My main issue with these strips is that the soldering pads are not easy to use, they simply pop off the wire when soldered, so I wish the substrate was a little more beefy. I'm also not crazy about the adhesive, it says 3M, but its not as tacky as the double sided 3M tape I use. Also note that although they are listed as "waterproof" they are more so water resistant—the silicone coating on them easily lets water through. In addition, the coating turns yellow within a year outdoors. If you want something to last a long time outside, you need to shop for an LED stip in a silicone tube.Overall Rating:★★★★☆Although a little tricky to cut and solder, they are priced fairly. The LED strip works great and so far have lasted a year in a salty and humid environment whilst turning on and off every day at least 3 times a day. Don't expect them to last outdoors and they simply won't work submerged.Recommend to a friend?: ✔ YesWould buy again?: ✔ Yes, if I needed this particular one. Otherwise, I'd go with a 5050 strip since they have longer soldering pads.A good gift idea?: ✘ Not really sure when you'd want to gift these.

Lasted about a month...
I thought these were really pretty - I got them for my ex since he wanted to pimp out his computer desk, as many others have used the lights for on here. However, it wasn't any more than a month before parts of the LED light strip just stopped working. I had noticed it one day out of nowhere. Needless to say, it left my ex feeling a bit bummed - especially after he worked hard to get the LED lights on his desk (the strip is very long and he has a decently somewhat large sized desk). So needless to say, it's okay because parts of the LED light strip still work - very pretty too - but I have to take off three stars for the lack of durability and not being able to continuously work for at least a 3 month period of time.EDIT 9/12/17: The company, I guess, saw this review, emailed me, and said that they wanted to send a replacement - FOR FREE. I LOVE THAT! I WASN'T EVEN EXPECTING THAT! HOWEVER, I only rated this 4 instead of 5, because I DO NOT KNOW how the new replacement lights work yet. SO I WILL UPDATE THIS WHEN IT HAS BEEN 3 MONTHS OR MORE AND WORKING! If anything happens in the meantime - I will update if the new lights had any issues, and if so, what those issues were.

Truck drivers love the heck out of it
The tape on these do NOT work! You want to use 3M outdoor tape on a cleaned surface. That said, these things are the bomb! If you don't know how to solder, there are clips you can use. I'm long versed to the extent of soldering my own resisters to LED's and casting light tubes. I'm used to building show trucks, so I did this to my husbands truck. He is contracted to the railroad. In 2 wks, the railroad is considering this. There is zero draw to the battery, the truck lights can be left on as a beacon and it prevents trips and falls. Truck drivers love the heck out of it, take the turn onto a rural road and look for the lights on the truck. It also saves my truck from being hit at 0'dark thirty. Light plants also blind drivers. There is so many practical applications and now it's down to basic DIY.

Not cut for making multiple light strips
The lights work as they should, not as bright as others, these are very flexible compared to others which is a big plus. But the down side is if you want to cut them and make shorter strips, they are a little hard to work with. I tried for the first time to used the clips that you can get on Amazon and they worked for a while, I replaced the clip connectors with new ones still couldn't get a connection. I went to my traditional way of making light strips by soldering wires, I tried to solder wires to them but that was a job to get a good lasting connection... After working with other brands I found the conductor copper that runs inside is very thin and hard to work with. My advice is if you want to keep them has a whole roll with the supplier attached wiring, these would be worth the money. Keep in mind if you cut off any of the lights you will have a hard time making a permanent connection. I'm guessing that's why there are no scissor marks on the light strip like other brands .. If your wanting to be able to cut them and make multiple light strips spend a few bucks more on another brand.. Just FYI I purchased two sets from this seller for different projects and had the same issue with both..

Not durable.
After spending a lot of time on installing these, only half of them worked. I checked them before the installation and they all worked. There were no bends or kinks at the point of failure. I am taking them all out and going on with my life! It's a shame because what did work looked beautiful.Update: It seems this company is fickle. They resolve issues for some who have left negative reviews but not all. Granted, not all negative reviews are legitimate, I am sure.
