Nice pot, just don't let it get wet.
I orderd two of these because they appear authentic and look so much better than the mass produced pots you find in hardware/garden stores. They should not, however, be used for live plants and definitely not out on your patio as the description suggests.I bought them to use with live plants indoors. Within 4 weeks of filling them with potting soil and a plant that requires water about every 10 days, I noticed a calcium/mineral like scale forming on the glazed exterior of the pots. It appears that the glaze is not set properly and moisture leeches through the pot, much like you would see on a basic non-glazed terra cotta pot. While part of my problem with this is that they always look dirty, the biggest hassle is that they make a mess. Every time I touch them to turn or water them, I end up with a powdery mess on my hands and on the table underneath. What inspired me to write this review though, is the fact that while I was trying to clean the scale from the pots exterior yesterday (with a damp soft sponge), I noticed chips of blue paint sticking to my wet hands. It turns out, the blue rim around the top of the pot is blue only because it was painted that way after it was glazed and that paint just peels right off when it gets wet.Nice looking pot, but strictly decorative and should not be used with live plants or outdoors.
