Q: The description says "classic" but is this the old-fashioned plastic kind of garland? I don't want the "fabric" or soft needles.

This is the traditional style of artificial Christmas garland. The needles are flat strips of PVC plastic. Some ways people might describe the branch are paper needles, flat needles, similar to a bottle brush.

Q: is this garland bendable enough to wrap around a column?

Yes it is bendable enough to wrap. I was able to secure it to my railing by twisting smaller branches together. Very real looking too.

Q: Is this garland soft and flexible enough to be wrapped around an indoor stair banister?

No it is not 'soft', but with some hard work it can be wrapped around a banister..not very long tho

Q: Is this garland pre-lit?

It says in the description, unlit, but not sure if there is a lighted option for it. Nice garland though.
