According to greek mythology, Medusa was the most beautiful of the 3 Gorgons, which was why Poseidon, the God of the Sea, desired to have sex with her. She agreed but unfortunately he wanted to do it in the temple of Athena, the Goddess of Wisdom. This infuriated the chaste Athena, so she took revenge at Medusa by turning her into the hideous, snake-haired monster we all know and love. Made of high quality excelsior pewter.
