I am so happy to receive this as my early Christmas gift this year from my husband. I believe this tripod is made with aluminum and metal, it has a little bit of weight and very sturdy. It comes with a shoulder bag so makes it easy to carry around (this is so great for me because I like to keep things in a bag so they don’t get scratches or dusty. The bag doesn’t look like it is water resistant, but it is still a plus to have one so things are organized). The ball head is very easy to operate, you can rotate it to any angle you like. It is big enough to cage a bigger camera like ours. This tripod itself has foam padded on the legs which allow us to crab it easily when we need to carry it from one spot to another. If you live in a cold place or take pictures in the cold weather, this could save you from freezing your hands. With the twist- lock type of telescope leg locks, you can easily setup the height you wanted your camera to be in just a quick second. You can extend it up to 63.8 inch high which is a pretty big range. This is my first ever tripod and I love it a lot.

I bought this tripod in July and have only used it 5 or 6 times and now one of the plastic leg hinges has broken rendering the tripod useless. I’ve tried to find Mactrem contact info on line to find out about a replacement but can’t locate them.I finally found mactrem contact info and sent them an email with photos of the broken tripod. Without hesitation or questions asked they replaced my tripod within a week. I give it a 4 instead of 5 because it did break but the tripod it’s self is a nice tripod that works well for being a low priced option in the tripod market. It’s relatively light weight, easy to use and sturdy. I would suggest very slightly loosening the screws that attach the legs to the body to make the legs move more easily. They come snugged pretty tightly and I think that might have contributed to the hinge breaking.

I bought this Tripod based on a video review done by Sean Cannel from Think Media. I needed something new to hold my iPad/Teleprompter/Camera rig and the el-cheapo tripods I had around here just weren't doing the trick - far to shaky and I was a little worried they'd tip.So I received this tripod today and I'm blown away at how well this thing is made. I almost can't believe how strong and stable it is considering how lightweight it is. Honestly, I can't imagine how tripods costing twice this much could be much, if any, better. Five stars all around! I'm seriously considering buying another to use with my camera when not using the Teleprompter/iPad rig (it's kind of a pain to mount/dismount). It's that good!

This is a good quality tripod, you can freely fold the shooting technique you want, and the four sections of the legs are very compact, and will not let people have the feeling of falling apart! I have had two tripods before, but they can't adapt to my need for outdoor filming, so I can only keep them at home and shoot some small things! And this I can take out, whether it is to shoot the river water or the snow scene photograph, all very good! For me, it's worth having!

Overall excellent product, compact design, easy setup, D ring camera attachment, dual capabilities (monopod), height 62.5", and light weight. This product was my 1st tripod/monopod. And I must say it is a great product. Product also comes with a great travel bag, the tripod itself also has a carry strap with is great make attaching to bag or other items easy and secure. The D ring part on the plate made attaching the product to my camera a breeze. I did have one issue with the product were the pan head was a bit rigid at certain point during the pan, I contacted the seller and we agreed to use for week and see if the problem continues. I used for a week and the problem remained, it did not have that fluid motion I was expecting when panning. The seller was great and responded very quickly to my emails. I was ultimately refunded for the purchase. Aside from that issue, the tripod and other functionalities were great. I loved the compact design, it was light weight and the setup from fold up to full extension was quite easier (coming from a novice).

nice compact, sturdy product. I'ts different that all the typical tripods i have used so it took a bit to understand how best to set it up, but now, i'm very pleased with it.Nov 2019. UPDATE: so I have had this for just over a year and seriously, I have used it maybe 5 times. On this last use, as I was folding up the legs, one of the plastic connectors at the top of the leg BROKE!!! This should not happen for a product at this price after only a few uses. I truly hope mfg will contact me for a replacement!!

I was really hoping to get a decent tripod for the money. I guess it works but I honestly would not recommend it. I like that I can manuever it in order to get my shot. My biggest complaint however is the piece that screws into the camera body always comes loose so it's practically impossible to tilt my camera into portrait mode.

I’ve been looking for an affordable, sturdy tripod for my camera outfit and, after two failed attempts, have found a winner! The construction is heavy duty—all legs are solid and all levers move smoothly. This tripod is very easy to operate, which I found to be an added bonus compared to others that are more expensive AND cumbersome. I would definitely recommend it for those looking for very good quality at a reasonable price.
