Mr. Jack Detective Game for 2 persons

I also ordered this game thinking it was in English and received a German/French version. Looking it up, I do believe the company who produce this game are French which makes sense that it is manufactured in their own language. The only part of the game that you need translation for is the rule book (the most important). However, if you google 'Mr Jack English pdf' you should be able to find an identical copy of the rules that can be printed out (I found the pdf posted on boardgamegeek.com). However, I do agree with others that it should be much clearer that it isn't an English game being purchased. All in all though, a very fun game for two players and very well constructed. I would recommend this for couples who would like to play more games together!

This is a great little game for 2 players. One person plays the detective and the other Jack. OK so Jack the Ripper is hardly a happy theme for a game but it's not a problem and kids will not know about Jack the Ripper anyway so Mr. Jack is just a generic 'baddie'.The board is a basic 'map' of some streets of London (not real or to scale) and you take turns to move characters around the streets trying to either escape the area (if you play as Mr. Jack) or discover which character Mr.Jack is by deduction/elimination. In that sense it's kind of a mix of Cluedo and Chess but much better than either, and much prettier to look at and play with.Yes the first game or two you are finding your feet but that's not unusual for anything more complicated than Ludo. We sometimes forget Monopoly has a lot of rules but it doesn't seem like it because we've played it so much.Remember it's 2 players only so it won't get played as much as something like Ticket to Ride or Carcassonne. Misrepresentation BY AMAZON as the supplier.AMAZON should by now have put it right - but read the reviews to see what a shoddy deal we get.FALSE description ... there were NO ENGLISH RULES.Amazon reports it could do zilch- and was NOT minded to do anything.(No profit in making god, it seems.)Publishers provided access to a .pdf file for ME to print off when I enquired via their website.That's the BEST forthcoming from WORLD consuming Amazon and the publishers.This is without doubt an excellent game - but the vendor (amazon) blurb is LIES and the publishers do not SHOUT to get it put right !!!

If you speak English, the only way to actually try to play, is to get an English manual from the web.It is sold as an English/German version, but se the picture of the box . It is in 3 languages and none of them is English.See the product related questions- seller lies in the description for many months and 👎 does nothing about it.The game itself is ok , once you have everything translated.

Havent played yet, but set it all up.Rules are quite extensive so needs regular checking throughout play, will read more before getting stuck in. Well presented and coulorful board with high quality peices

My fiancé and I played this for the first time last night, it did not take long to set up and once you've read the instructions through a couple of times it is very easy to play, we loved it!

It felt ridiculously complicated at first but after a couple of games my partner and I had got it and were really enjoying ourselves. I recommend watching YouTube clips to help grasp how to play. All worth it.
