Very good for its intended use. Can be applied with just micro fibre cloths in a pinch.
So the main issue with this stuff is Bona’s confusing product naming. They have multiple different similarly named products and then to make matters worse, change the names leaving the old ones still in the supply chain. They also use very similar photos and very poor product descriptions. I even went so far as to write to Bona seeking clarification and was still not 100% clear afterwards. But don’t let all that put you off very good products. This is for OILED wood floors. If your floor is lacquered or waxed or something else, this is not for you.We use Bona Soap for every week cleaning. This product is something to use maybe once every six months. It will top up the oils and improve your floor is looking a little faded and dry.Application instructions include using one of Bona’s floor mops and and a particular head. I didn’t have these and ours is a relatively small kitchen floor so decided to try a small area with a micro fibre cloth on my hands and knees. Turns out it’s very easy to apply. I swept/hoovered and mopped the floor first and left it to dry completely. Then i used a light spray and immediately wiped it across an area (doing about 0.5 sq m) at a time. It spreads very easily and is easy to see where you’ve been while it’s still wet. So it’s easy to spread without missing bits. I didn’t buff the first time and the effect was very good, but there were one or two areas which looked a bit patchy. Or rather, you could see where the product had been wiped.I did a second coat the same way. Afterwards there was one maybe two areas where a quick third spray and wipe were needed. The overall effect is great with the floor looking suitably “refreshed”. It was easier than I make it sound above, but that’s just trying to be clear. Not saying my method is the best way. Presumably Bona know best (although they may want to sell some mops), but you can certainly get away doing it how I did. When I next do it, I think I’ll have two cloths, one to spread and one to immediately remove excess product which I’d expect would prevent any patchiness.Bona say that you can wash the mop head by bunging it in he washing machine. That maybe so, but I would add, do that immediately, don’t let the cloth dry. I used a new micro fibre and didn’t wash it straight away. It stayed crusty and stiff after washing.

Works well but clogs the nozzle
I have a bona mop but couldn't find this as a mop refill. No problem I thought and used the spray separately. After only about 2 minutes the nozzle clogged and it wouldn't work at all. So I decanted it into an empty mop attachment container and it sprayed fine for a while but did eventually block. This was successfully cleared by pouring boiling water through the mop where the container attaches.Other than this the product works well and has noticeably improved our rather worn / graying (7 years old) engineered oak floor and is easy to apply.

Really excellent
This is a different and greatly improved product from Bona. My oiled solid oak floors had been damaged with stains from dropped oily foods, and water staining near the sink and fridge. This product, after some very light sanding on particularly bad marks, made my floors look almost like new, and greatly reduced the appearance of marks. In most cases it totally covered up the marks. I am absolutely delighted. A couple of months on, and the obscuring of the marks is not quite so good, but still greatly improved. It is possible to treat problem areas more than once, as some areas are drier and more absorbent. Immediately after treatment I thought it had made the finish shinier. However, I found that the sheen disappeared in time.

Ok for maintenance but not renovation
I find this is useful when used on a floor that is kept clean with specialist oiled floor cleaners but not on floors where the oil has been stripped by stronger cleaning. Our kitchen floor had dark dirt ground into the grain which required scrubbing. This worked but caused a “bleaching “ effect in some areas which I believe is the oils being stripped from the wood. This product helps a bit but not nearly enough. So we’re cleaning our other wood floors much more regularly with products with both soap and oil in them to stop them getting that bad.I’ve looked at the liquid in the container and it’s translucent/milky and watery. I suspect it is a light emulsion of water and oil, with not much oil. So it darkens the wood when first applied but the water evaporates leaving a little oil behind. This is why it looks like it’s going to do a really good job but the next day is a bit disappointing.

Does Not Last Very Long
Will not buy this again. The following morning you can see a slight difference. Give it another 24 hours and you are wondering if you dreamt putting it on........
