La Fe Casabe (Cassava Bread) 7oz 3 Pack

Based on other reviews I knew I was rolling the dice as to whether this would show up in whole pieces or a pile of crumbs. I made sure to order it with other light items and hoped for the best. I got lucky and mine arrived whole but Amazon has no clue about casabe and takes no care to wrap it with extra padding for shipping. Mine was just thrown in the box with my other items, free to tumble about. The casabe itself is good. I'm no expert; I've only ever had store bought and it's as good as any I've had. Crumbly as heck but I can make grain-free sandwiches so I am in love with it. It's akin to making a sandwich on thin toast.

The taste...excellent. Quality...impeccable. BUT it was almost dust instead of the delicious tort it is supposed to be. I grew up with this casabe on my table, every day a staple at Dominican tables. What a disappointment! It was 90% broken, impossible to eat. I should get my money back. It is not about the product, it is a great brand. I think it is the packaging for delivery. Imagine bying pita bread and receiving pita crumbs...THAT is what I got after getting my dreamy favorite casave. SO ANGRY AND DISAPPOINTED!!! 90% of the package was plain casave CRUMBS!AMAZON your fault. This is the best Dominican brand for casave, PACKAGE IT WITH RESPECT TO YOUR CUSTOMERS, PLEASE!

Unfortunately the product is stale and rancid. Upon opening the package, I found the product to be of poor quality and unsuitable for consumption. I would like my money back immediately.

Felt like I should write a review since there were plenty of misguided others. First, the product arrived well-wrapped and protected, with minimal breaks. It’s a delicate product to start with, so some crumbling is to be expected.Secondly, the product was not stale. It was as expected, although it’s tough to judge “fresh” with Casabe.Folks that are buying and have never tried Casabe should know what to expect. It is “bland”. It’s a great complement to pork meat or skin which is fatty. The Casabe must be moistened with water until it’s soft. One never eats it just dry.The dry Casabe can be prepared by spreading some butter all over it, sprinkled with a little salt, and then into a hot oven for roasting. The result is spectacular and something that guests or family will fight for (just like the crunchy skin of a lechon).Prepared properly Casabe is great. I enjoyed it and now I know where I can get more. 😉

It’s my favorite now. But it’s pricey here.So, because I’m in Florida , I can I get it at Bravo for half the price!
