When you pull your tailgate release and nothing happens, it is a mortal lock one of the clips that connect the latch actuating rods to the handle has disintegrated. These Kutyun brand rod clips will get you back in business.Drop-in identical replacement for the OEM clips on my 2007 Silverado Classic 1500. Pull the trim bezel around the handle off, pop off the old clip (or remove what is left of the broken clip), pop these replacements on, replace the bezel and you are done. Took me longer to open the Amazon package and walk out to the truck than it did to replace the clips. Plenty of YouTube videos if you need help. No tools needed. Recommend a little lube (syl glyde, light duty grease, or something similar) at the pivot point where the plastic clip pushes through the hole on the handle lever for longer life.Only one (green / passenger side) was broken on my truck but I replaced them both as a preventative measure. Red clips are for the driver side, green for the passenger side. They are NOT interchangeable. Have four of each left - put them in the glove compartment so they are handy if needed away from home. It is a no brainer to get this pack of ten even if you only need one or two – the whole pack is less than a dealer will get you for one OEM and it never hurts to have spares. You can even give them as Christmas gifts to your GM truck owning friends (1999-2006 + 2007 Classic only!).Will they last another 17 years like the originals? Don’t know. I can say upon visual inspection and comparison with the original part, I could not spot a material difference and the plastic did not feel brittle. Time will tell but with multiple spares in the glove compartment I am not worried about it.Very satisfied and would not hesitate to get more if needed. Fit and function like a factory part.
