Uniflame Tan PP Hearth Rug

The Uniflame Hearth Rug is the perfect item for the floor in front of my wood stove. I am very careful when opening the doors, but on rare occasions, the fire spits small bits out so I always want to have a fire resistant hearth rug covering the floor. I am very happy with the size of this rug as it will cover the needed area with that extra protection. The rug has a very nice feel to it and I really like the design. All in all, this rug is a definite winner for my floor! Already the dog thinks this rug belongs to her, so had to move her back just to get a photo.

Reasonably priced, looks good and keeps the occasional stray spark or ember from burning your expensive floor. It Melts but does not flame. Remove any hot embers as soon as possible as the rug does not put the ember out. My suggestion is to keep a small "watering can" close at hand to sprinkle on any hot ember. It does not take much water to put out a hot ember and is easy cleanup compared to the time that it takes to get something to try to pick it up and not get burned. Not a good idea to use hot water on top of the stove such as used as a humidifier as you may get burned or scalded. Not a Replacement for a fireproof base that is necessary for under your wood stove or in front of your fireplace.

Won't lay flat. Tried weighting down for 24 hours with no success. Returned.

I really do like this mat. Nice quality (although the pattern is a bit more blue in person) and looks sturdy. My only complaint is that since it arrived rolled up it continues to want to curl up on the ends. Otherwise, a very nice rug.

I was hard time finding the fireplace rug all over the stores and hardware stores.. Luckly I found this rug on this Amazon online.. Good rug and love the color of it...

Dropped a hot ember on the rug and it quickly melted almost entirely through. Obviously it's not 100% burn proof but I kinda expected more. Could have bought one of these for less at TSC as well. Will try the TSC one next time.

I bought it in hopes that it was non-slip. My other rug drove me crazy as it was constantly needing to be repositioned. This one is no better and it is thinner than the last. Although it does the job and is true in color as it appeared on the website, it does not meet my need.

Not fireproof. Actually started on fire from an ash.

I read other reviews that said it didn't lay flat, but I had no problem with that aspect. It is perfect and I am very pleased with this hearth rug.

This is not ember proof, made from plastic, melts. Deceived.
