Incorrect Info, not 6G
The JMB363 controller on which this is based is not a 6Gbps SATA 3 controller - it is SATA 2 3Gbps.You can get 6Gbps controllers (Asmedia chipset) but not with an IDE connection - the JMB363 seems to be the only one that facilitates both. This is a good solution if you want to use an IDE/PATA device on a modern system, such as a favourite DVD writer. It also adds one internal SATA, and one external SATA - in my case, I'm using it for the IDE and ESATA and ignoring the single internal SATA that is unlikely to perform as well as integrated chipset SATA.PS. I could have used an external SATA bracket on a spare chipset port, but if something goes wrong, I'd rather have this card in the firing line than the motherboard chipset!
