Follow the instructions easy to put together.
They work perfectly and spin freely and nice when you put them together properly. I read a couple people saying they don't spin. Ya when you put it past the end piece spindle and try to put on the other shaft. And NO, the holes are not too small as some state. You do not put the small holes past the end spindle as the shaft is bigger and of course when you do that the pinwheel will not spin. Make sense? Instruction explains it clearly. Amazing how many people are either lazy or just not capable of doing simple tasks. In other words, when you put the end piece spindle in place, that is where you put the folded pinwheel flaps on that piece alone not past it. Again, they work perfectly.

Too difficult to put together- not as easy as it looks
Why did you pick this product vs others?:This is well made, sturdy plastic and will hold up. No complaints EXCEPT THESE ARE SO HARD TO PUT TOGETHER! It took an hour and a half to put 8 together! The small direction sheet is useless. It is very difficult to put together. We need an attached video showing you how to put it together. If i had that, it would cut my time in half. You receive 8 square sheets that are precut to create the pinwheel. It takes awhile to figure out how to put 8 points on the pole. However once you figure it OK, it is workable. However, it is impossible to get the tiny cap on the rod over the pinwheel. That's what takes so long. The fittings are too tight. The cap is supposed to pop on to secure the pinwheel. Some did and some didn't. If you're a crafty person, you may be ok. Now that's it's together, it's very pretty in the garden. If I had a video to watch someone do it first, I would buy it again.

DIY built good looking pinwheels
The package arrived quickly and in a great slim box.I built 2 pinwheels for my balcony. And they spin well and look beautiful even after a few rainy and windy days. The instructions are easy to follow, and for additional support the video is also helpful. The holes are not always the same size, so some “wings” are easier to mount than others, that’s my only criticism, and therefore 4 stars.

Patience and not following the instructions will make this a good purchase.
Assembling these wasn't explained well on paper or in the video. We figured out an easier way, but a bit of a challenge with Arthritis. Placing the spinner on the white rod--fin by fin( just picked one and kept going around the whole spinner) and then putting on the tiny white cap (big end on the white rod) I held it upside down on the table and pushed the white rod down into the white cap. We also put the small circle STARS on the inside of the white cap. They spin great and can take the hard, strong wind off of Lake Superior. 4 are located more inland and still spin just fine. I will buy more!!

Easy and Effective Deer Deterrent
Easy and Effective Deer DeterrentThese reflective pinwheels were super easy to assemble—took just a few minutes to get them spinning in the garden. Not only do they add a fun pop of color, but they’ve actually kept the deer away from my flowers! I was skeptical at first, but they really do the trick. Affordable, simple, and surprisingly effective. Highly recommend!

For best results, don’t follow instructions
The pinwheels arrive unassembled and if you follow the instructions, the pinwheels don’t spin at all, but if you make a minor change in assembly, most will spin. Here is the minor change: eliminate step 2 entirely. Step 3 should read, attach all holes in pinwheel blade (D) directly onto pole (A) and carefully cap pole (A) with stopper (E). Continue as directed.Unfortunate, nights have been fairly windless around here, so the pinwheels haven’t had a fair test because that’s when I’ve been getting animals digging up my garden

These DO spin. See instructions below.
Birds are building nests in very inconvenient locations very close to my house so I wanted a humane and pretty way to keep them at bay. I will say, the included instructions are not helpful. The installation video was helpful for a moment but not when I couldn’t figure out why my pinwheels didn’t spin. The video is also way too fast paced. It took me an hour to put them together (because of troubleshooting…and taking them apart and putting them back together again, four times before figuring out how to actually put them together AND have them spin). But, hopefully my instructions will help those of you who are struggling to put such a simple-looking item together. I really never thought I would have to post instructions for putting a pinwheel together but here it goes. Photos should correlate with each step.1. Lay out one full pinwheel set2. Start by inserting a section of pinwheel flap over the small hollow connector. The very important key here is to make sure the SLIM end is facing the OUTSIDE. the WIDE end should be facing the INSIDE.3. Continue layering each pinwheel flap on top of the previous flap over the SLIM side.4. You have completed the difficult part. Pat yourself on the back.5. Put the decorative circular cover over top of the SLIM side to cover the pinwheel flap layers. I chose the silver color but it is reversible with a star on the other side.6. Insert the white arm through the back of the pinwheel and into the WIDE part of the connector.7. It will be difficult to push the arm into the wide connector but continue pushing until you hear a CLICK. Yes, it will click. If it has not clicked, it has not been secured properly and will not spin.8. You are done! Reward yourself for your patience.I could only make 9 pinwheels because I was missing one connector. I was able to tape the pinwheel sections together and get by without the connector. It still spins, but not as well as the ones with connectors. I will say that the durability seems pretty good as I had to take them apart multiple times and put them back together to fix my mistakes. Nothing ripped which was impressive. If you do not mind spending a little bit of time to put them together, I would say buy them. If you have arthritis in your hands or difficulty using fine motor skills, just buy them at the dollar store instead. I really only bought these for the patriotic pattern.

Not as easy as video claims
Could not install pinwheels over the plug stopper that they supplied, it bent the leaves up badly when I used force even though the video shows it’s a simple thing. It definitely is not. I will never purchase these again. They were too much trouble to put together.
