Worked well.
Used on a rusted radiator. Went on really easily, although watch out for drips as it's very liquid. Dried quickly and radiator repainted. Will have to see how long it lasts but happy so far. Saved the cost of a replacement

Works quickly
Certainly seems to convert rusty material quickly. Couldn't say about long term performance.

Excellent product - cheapskate container
Jenolite is very much like Kurust and other rust-converting products on the market - a milky white liquid that, when applied to a rusty surface (with any loose rust removed) converts it to a black layer that doubles as an undercoat and primer for painting.I've used this on garden tools and an ageing horsebox that needed some TLC, with excellent results. The rust was all converted to the black stuff, and it acted as a decent primer/undercoat for cellulose paint. I didn't try any other kind. The minor annoyance is that the metal container seems to be very cheaply made. The lid doesn't screw up tightly because the thread is so poorly defined on both the bottle and the lid, so you can keep turning it for ever. Thankfully there is a plastic sort of seal that goes inside the neck of the bottle to stop the gloop leaking out, but still... what's the point of a screw-on lid if it doesn't, er, screw on? Mine also arrived with a dent in one edge of the lid, further reducing its chances of actually fitting the container.I suspect Mr Jenolite from 1939 is turning in his grave at the way this is being packaged. Dashed poor show, what? Still a superb rust-zapper.

The right choice
I bought this instead of the spray paint version and I am happy with my choice.Although it takes longer to apply with a brush, I was able to coat the whole working area fully.I have only used a minimal amount as a very thin layer is all you need for it to work. It's white as it goes on and starts bubbling slightly on application, once dry the part turns blue/black.It successfully converted car parts that had a lot of surface rust (before using a wire brush) to a sealed, primed surface which I then spray painted with Hammerite metal paint. If I were to use this again I would properly sand down the part before applying the rust converter and spray to get a smooth clean finish. As the parts I was working on were underbody bracing the cosmetics didn't matter too much, more that it was sealed.
