I honestly was very skeptical. My dog has "alot of face" according to his vet. Red mutt, part hound, his face sort of melts from the nose down. I have used a dog hog stainless steel ball which helped somewhat. Then we got this, NO MORE SKATING ACROSS THE FLOOR. I still keep a microfiber towel under this water dish, but honestly, it is almost not necessary.A nice feature is the slight indentation in the center so his nose doesn't have to get wet. First time we put it out for him we did, as suggested, put a dog treat on the floater so he would be more keen to use the bowl. It worked. It's a game changer.

I bought this for my Great Danes. If you don't know, these animals are the biggest babies. Skittish of everything—unless they are behind the door of a UPS delivery driver. They don't like change. But y'all. I was TIRED of a sopping wet floor all the time. All. The. Time. I swear, you would think ducks came in and bathe on our floors every 20 minutes. And my pups don't drink all at once, they go back 3-4 times. We even have strategically placed hooks for dog face towels. It's not enough.I will say, the mess has reduced by 90%. Also, by them pushing on the floater, it causes them to slow down when drinking water, which is needed. They no longer hack up water after drinking. I did also purchase the 3L version because....Great Danes....BUY IT!

I have a 20 lb Frenchton, 125 lb Black Lab/Treeing Walker Coonhound mix & 110 lb Great Pyrenees. They were all able to figure this dish out within a matter of minutes.We've had no spills & no dripping all over the floors from one room to the other while our lab mix carries a mouthful of water that he decides not to drink when he gets to the next room & proceeds to let it drop out of his mouth.I also love that I can take the floating piece out when the need arises. My Frenchton puppy was recently spayed & was unable to use the dish while she's wearing the cone of shame. I just took the floating piece out & they can use it as a regular water dish until she no longer needs the cone.My Great Pyrenees always drank large amounts of water way too fast & then throw it all up with a regular water dish. He no longer does that with this dish! It absolutely slows down his drinking & reduces the amount he's drinking at any given time. That in itself makes this dish a win-win!!I did remove the 2 gray silicone pieces on the sides of the dish. (See photo for the pieces I'm referring to) I'm assuming they're to hold the floating piece in place?? Or to keep smart dogs from removing it?? However, it's easier for me to use it & refill it throughout the day without those 2 pieces. Plus with a puppy who loves to chew everything she can sink her teeth into they're a choking hazzard in my household. It works just fine without them for us & makes it easier to fill & put back together.Cleaning the dish is a breeze. I wash it twice a day when I wash their food dishes. The floating piece comes apart easily. I stick a butter knife in between the 2 pieces & it pops right apart. I did notice that when I took it apart & cleaned it twice a week as the directions recommended it had a very musty smell after 3 days. Maybe that's for when you only have one dog drinking from the dish?? Regardless, I clean it twice a day now & it's never had a musty smell since then. You might want to keep that in mind if you have multiple dogs.I do wish they made this in a bigger size for large/giant breeds & multiple dog households. I'm going to order another one so I have 2 in use at a time. It would be so much nicer to have one larger dish though. Just a thought!!I highly recommend this dish if you have guzzlers or drippers. Wet socks are a thing of the past!

VERY happy with this purchase. While it does not completely eliminate water dripping, it significantly helps with our messy drinker. Before getting this bowl, our pup would create huge puddles around the dish and as she walked away, so water was always all over the floor every time she took a drink. This bowl doesn’t allow her to get as much in her mouth at one time so even though HER drinking habits have not changed, the reduced amount of water she can get at a time reduces the mess A LOT! Check the bowl measurements…I’d describe this as a medium size bowl…great for us but if you have more than one dog, it might not be ideal.

I have a puppy who kept dripping water everywhere after drinking, despite having a large mat under the water bowl. He somehow would drip water across the room. This now really does help combat that. It doesn’t entirely keep water off the floor but at least it seems to be more contained to the mat underneath. It was funny watching my older dog (8yo) try to figure it out. The older dog would try to drink from the side. The puppy had to show him how to get the most water.

We have a black lab and a cockapoo! Pre-water dish— our lab would get the kitchen all wet and the cockapoo would get his ears, mustache and beard all wet!! We also have 5 kids running around at times and it gets knocked over!At first the dogs were reluctant but figured it out rather quickly! When it’s the only water they have, they will give in!Since the water dish—- no spills at all, super easy to clean and fill! I love that you can use a cup or pitcher to fill the dish too (in between cleans). Our little dog is no longer all wet !! I feel like it is much easier to gauge when the dish needs to be filled, so everyone seeing that it’s low— someone is bound to fill it and it wasn’t that way (or as easy before!

I have a black lab, and he dribbles all over the place. someone constantly has to go behind him and wipe up the water he gets everywhere. I also love with my grandfather, who isn’t the best walker, so it’s important to keep the floors dry so he doesn’t slip. this bowl has great reduced the amount of water he gets everywhere! Id say probably about 90% of the water he used to get everywhere is no longer a problem! just a couple of drops here and there (he also is very slobbery though). highly recommend this product to people who have the same problem!

We moved the wide open bowls to the back yard since my Goldendoodle would drip a full face of water on the floor every time he drank. He still drips water on the floor, but having this bowl inside has helped quite a bit. It’s nowhere near as bad as it was!

For four years, I have been mopping up and cussing stepping in seemingly endless puddles left by my drippy mouth lab. I am so glad I found this product, particularly as we welcomed a second lab into our family. While there are still small drips on occasion, there are no more ponds of water and I am over the moon happy. My dog had no trouble figuring it out. Dry feet at last!

I bought this for my Great Danes who drool a lot after drinking water. This works really well for my 1 older girl. However my younger pup does not get the concept. She still does not swallow her water so she ends up spitting it out on the floor. Oh well, better cleaning up after 1 than 2

My dog is a huge fan of water and indulges all summer in a doggy pool. Once winter rolls around he's fully committed to making the water bowl his new play space. He is the type of breed that has a beard, and so he tends to drip water from one end of the house to the other creating a mess and a dangerous slipping hazard. This bowl works perfectly to curb all of his habits and keep his beard dry. He took no time figuring out how to push on the cover and get a drink. I have had no trouble keeping it clean, but keep in mind that the instructions say that you should wash it often. I imagine that if you let that slip it may be more of a task.

We have two large dogs. One of which is a lab who loves water and merely drinks a lot just for fun. However, this leaves a trail of water all over the floor. This bowl is AMAZING!
